Meet the Pastor

Pastor Paige Eaves and her husband Forrest Robinson.

Pastor Paige was appointed to Crescenta Valley UMC in August 2006. She is a graduate of the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a Masters of Divinity with an emphasis on Christian Education. She also has a Masters of Public Policy from UC Berkeley, and a BA from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.

Much of Pastor Paige's life and ministry has been focused on youth and missions. Prior to attending seminary, she was the Executive Director of Sierra Service Project. She spent seven years with this ministry, creating opportunities for church youth groups to serve in Native American communities throughout the West. She continues to emphasize the life-changing impact of Christian service, and is always encouraging youth and adults to go out and encounter others of God's children - on the reservations, in the inner city, in other countries. She recently completed six years of service on the board of the Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Churches, which she commends highly for its Friends in Deed food pantry, Bad Weather Shelter, Women's Room, and other services that keep people on their feet.

Pastor Paige preaches lively messages that connect scripture to life. Her messages consistently reveal her love of scripture, delight in storytelling, and sense of urgency about the world's need for healing. She believes that church should be a place where we can be real with one another - authentic about our joys and struggles. She believes that church should be a safe place to identify and grow spiritual gifts - that we can help one another live fully as God intends. She believes in the humbling work of confession, the transcendent joy of community praise, and the healing power of prayer.

She currently serves on the board of Progressive Christians Uniting and is active with the Abrahamic Faiths Peacemaking Initiative.

She is a contributor to the In Theory column in the Glendale News-Press, Burbank Leader, and La Canada Sun.

Pastor Paige is married to professional drummer Forrest Robinson (www.forrestrobinson.com). She is pleased to note that this marriage in 2002 totally enhanced her coolness and gave her a partner in ministry. Forrest shares his musical gifts in many ways, and his spiritual gift of encouragement means that he always has a listening ear and an affirming word.
